From our skilled veterinarians to our attentive veterinary technicians and support staff, each member of our team plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive veterinary services. Cedar Lake Animal Hospital in Simpsonville, SC

Patrick Sullivan

DVM

Dr. Patrick Sullivan was born in the panhandle of Texas and moved to Simpsonville, SC as a child. In spending time with his Grandpa in Texas along with growing up on his family farm in Simpsonville, he developed his passion for caring for animals both Large and Small.

Dr. Patrick Sullivan graduated from Auburn University’s College of Agriculture in 2009 with a degree in Animal Science. In 2013 he graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Patrick moved to Central Texas where he gained a wide variety of experiences in mixed animal medicine.

In 2016 he married Dr. Jasmine Sullivan and they continued to live in Central Texas until the summer of 2018 when they moved back to the upstate of South Carolina.
The Drs. Sullivan are blessed with two wonderful children (Stella and Garrett). In his free time,
he enjoys spending time at the lake with his family and working on the farm with their horses
and cattle.

Patrick’s interests include surgery, client relationships and education, and large animal
theriogenology

Jasmine Sullivan

DVM

Dr. Jasmine Sullivan was born and raised in south Alabama. She recognized at an early age that she wanted to be a Veterinarian because of her passion for animal care and serving people. She and Dr. Patrick met in 2011 at the Veterinary School Dairy where she worked milking and feeding cows while Patrick was on the “Bovine Palpation Team” for Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Jasmine earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Auburn University College of Agriculture in 2012. In 2016 she graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Shortly after graduation, she and Dr. Patrick Sullivan got married and she moved to Central Texas to start her career.

In the summer of 2018, the Drs. Sullivan moved to South Carolina where they expanded their family. In 2018 she had a daughter and in 2020 a son. In her spare time, she enjoys time outdoors with her children – Stella and Garrett- and husband, Patrick. Dr. Jasmine Sullivan also enjoys horseback riding and time at the beach.

Dr. Jasmine’s primary focus at Cedar Lake Animal Hospital includes surgery, internal medicine, and preventative care.

Jana Bass

DVM

Dr. Bass has been a part of the Simpsonville community since 1980. She attended Converse College for her undergraduate degree and then attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and received her veterinary degree in 1988.

She is married to Charles P Cecil, Jr. They have two grown boys; Noah and Zachary. Her family has a frenchie; Lily, two yellow labs; Dabble and Darla and a special geriatric cocker spaniel Charlie; and a very independent cat; Rizzo.

Dr. Bass enjoys taking care of her family and traveling to Charleston, SC. She also enjoys time by the pool and shopping.

Dr. Bass and Mr. Cecil built and started Cedar Lake Animal Hospital in 1995 and have enjoyed watching Cedar Lake Animal Hospital grow for 28 years. Dr. Bass continues to enjoy practicing veterinary medicine at Cedar Lake Animal Hospital, and is proud of the direction of the Sullivans are progressing with it. Cedar Lake continues to be loving, compassionate family our devoted clients and patients have grown to love.

Meet Our Technician Team

Elizabeth Lockwood

LVT & Office Manager

Elizabeth has been a part of Cedar Lake’s team since 2001. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and earned her degree from Tri-County Technical College in 2010. She has a special interest in surgery and dentistry. Elizabeth is a South Carolina Gamecock fan and enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their twin daughters (Riley and Ansley).

When she is not working, she is an Uber driver for her girls who enjoy dance and taekwondo. Elizabeth has several furbabies including her Labrador Retriever; Willow and Frenchies; Nala, Cali, and Hope.

Ashley McClellan

LVT

Ashley has been a part of Cedar Lake’s team since 2014. Ashley was born in Virginia and moved to South Carolina in 2008. She earned her Licensed Veterinary Technician degree from Tri County Technical College.

Her favorite part of the job is educating clients on how to care for their pets. Ashley is a Clemson Tiger fan and enjoys outdoor activities and hanging with her husband, family, friends, and dogs. Her favorite musician is Whiskey Meyers and favorite place to travel is to the beach.

Hannah Zelasko

LVT

Originally from Connecticut, Hannah moved to South Carolina in 2018. She earned her Veterinary Technician degree from Tri-County Technical College in 2024. She has a special interest in small animal dentistry and large animal medicine. Hannah plans to specialize in Canine Behavior and enjoys training with her dog, Dixie, who is an AKC Canine Good Citizen.

In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes, playing soccer, and spending time with family and friends.

Shannon Kirby

Vet Asst

Shannon is a native to Simpsonville and has been part of the Cedar Lake’s team since 2019. She is working towards earning her Licensed Veterinary Technician degree and has a specific interest in surgery and both large and small animal medicine. Shannon is the mother to two amazing  girls (Sydney and Reese).

One attending Clemson and one at Woodmont High. Shannon lives on a farm and enjoys horseback riding and time with family at the lake. She has several furbabies  and raises French Bulldogs.

Amanda Crawford

Vet Asst & Kennel Leader

Amanda is a Laurens County girl and has been a part of Cedar Lake’s team since 2016. Amanda started as an Animal Caregiver and now is the manager of the boarding facility and works as a Veterinary Assistant.

She has a love for Jeeps, horses, and dogs and enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Blake and her dachshund, Shrimpy. Amanda enjoys listening to Classic Rock and traveling to the Mountains or the Beach.

Vicky Donnelly

Client Care Team

Vicky has been a part of Cedar Lake’s team since 2001 and has worked in every division of the practice. She has worked as a Client Care Representative for years now and if you have phoned Cedar Lake Animal Hospital more than once, then you have likely spoke to Vicki.

Vicky was born in Florida, lived in California and New York before moving to the Upstate. She and her husband
have 2 boys (Connor and Trevor). They have 2 dogs (Blue and Astro) and 1 cat (Bandit). Vicky enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoys vacationing in the mountains.

Shelly Watkins

Client Care Team

Shelly was born in Pennsylvania and moved to South Carolina in 2010. Shelly rejoined Cedar Lake’s team in 2021 after taking time off to be with her daughter. She is a client care representative and also is a part of the caregiving team to care for boarders. Shelly enjoys living in the country with her husband and their beautiful daughter, Kinsley. Shelly has 3 dogs, a rabbit, and a flock of chickens. In her free time, Shelly enjoys camping, spending time with her husband, family, and friends, and traveling. She also has a special interest in crafts.

Krystal Amann

Client Care Team

Originally from Newport News, Virginia. After moving several times throughout childhood and meeting her husband in Florida, they decided to settle down in the Upstate in 2016. She has been part of Cedar Lake’s team since 2021. Zach and Krystal have a beautiful daughter (McKenna) and two Frenchie furbabies. Krystal enjoys mom life along with spending time with family and friends. They also love exploring the outdoors and taking photographs. Her favorite places are the lake and Disney with Stitch.

Liz Ballard

Animal Caregiver

Liz has been a part of the caregiving team at CLAH since 1999. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Alan, of 37 years and her 5 cats in her free time.

Liz loves the beach! #crazycatlady

Brenda Rivers

Animal Caregiver

Brenda was born in Beaufort, SC on a military base and as a young girl she moved all over as her dad was in the Marines. Brenda is mom of two and a proud grandma. She has a cat named Sabrina, loves the outdoors, and a good movie. Brenda loves time with family, at the beach and would love to visit Venice, Italy.

She has a strong love for animals and has been a part of Cedar Lake’s team since 2019. Brenda does a great job taking care of animals boarding and keeping our clinic clean.

Kathryn Juszkiewicz

Animal Caregiver

Kathryn (Kat) joined Cedar Lake’s Animal Caregiving team in 2021. She is hardworking and does a great job caring for our boarders. She enjoys meeting new animals and learning their personalities.

Kat has four cats at home and her favorite place to travel is Key West, Florida (she also loves sea creatures). Kat enjoys rock music, dining out, and shopping with friends.

Kathryn Tabone

Kathryn (the other Kat) was born and raised in Simpsonville, SC. She has 2 cats (Loki & Bleu) and 2 dogs ( Sophie & Sarah). She has always had a love and passion for animals. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys binge watching her favorite shows with her fur babies. She would love to travel around the world, experience new things, and eat AMAZING food!

Kaylee Knight

Kaylee was born and raised in Fountain Inn, SC. She has always had a strong love and care for both large and small animals. Kaylee enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has a dog (Tig), two horses (Boone & Special) and several cows. In her free time, Kaylee teaches horseback riding lessons. You can often find her at local rodeos barrel racing. She loves to spend her time at the lake and outdoors.
